Day tour and Wine tasting at Barossa Valley South Australia

Went on a trip to visit areas around Barossa Valley today. Very cheap yet pretty worth the value
for just a day tour.

Took off from my University,

This is the tour bus we booked from the school's ISSU dept. Trip starts early morning at 9 am.

First off, we went to the Toy factory Gumeracha, which has the biggest rocking horse in the world I suppose. The horse is 3 -4 story high. Entrance fees is a cheap AU$2.

The season now is Summer, but at the top of the Rocking horse, its cold because there's nothing to block the wind up there. Couple of pictures from the top.

Other areas at the site include a pretty small wildlife park, and a smaller size rocking horse...

Wendi taking her sweet time to take the picture.. or rather, she prefers the butts.

Next up, The whispering Walls of Williamstown SA. Which is in fact the retaining wall of the Barossa Reservoir. Words whispered at one side can be heard at the other end, which is more than 100 metres away.

Look at that. Water on one side and falls/walls on the other. Heard from the tour guide that this arch shape dam was build before the Hoover dam.

Now for the main highlight of the tour itself. The Barossa Valley is basically famous for its vineyards, and wine making factories in the areas. Though SA has lots of other areas that grows and make their own wine, this area must be the most famous around here. Here, we visited the Chateau Tanunda.

Wine tasting! Yum Yum.

Mabo(Dizzy... LOL)

More Wine tasting at Grant Burge on Krondorf .

Then we went to Menglers Hill Lookout for Photo Opportunities.

Before the end of the day, last stop – Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop. Maggie Beer is a South Australian cook, food author, restaurateur and food manufacturer. The farm shop sells products such as cookies, jams, Pate and non-alcoholic wines. Beside it's cafe, there's a small pond, with turtles waiting for food...LOL. Overall, a refreshing place to relax away if you have the time to enjoy South Australia's sun.

At last. Back to Flinders after a day of wine tasting and sightseeing.
